My Mission: Master DJ, Breakdance, Rap, & Graffiti and become the Hip Hop Avatar
SMUTH, stylized as Smüth, is my mission to prove to the world and the cities of Lake Mary and Sanford the power of practice. Smüth is the foundational belief and commitment to practice that gave me a purpose and pushed me through the weakest years of my life. As I invest more time into The Skill Scale to achieve my goal of becoming The Hip Hop Avatar, I realize that my methods aren’t without fault. There is something to be said about the intent of practice and the concentration of focus toward a skill that goes far beyond stopwatching your time. I do not have a name for this “phenomena of focus” that remains hidden at the core of Smüth. But I believe this mysterious experience will reveal itself to any user that commits to consistent practice and allows this force enough time and space to speak.
When performed correctly, the improvised freestyle rap can bring more amazement than street magic. There is a growing confusion about the meaning of “freestyle” that Google itself can’t answer. Freestyle Rap originally referred to an improvised rap, but the term has become an umbrella to include any freeverse or unreleased written rap that is performed over another beat – often seen on radio shows. Chances are if it sounds too good to be true it is. But I believe that anyone can craft an improvised freestyle rap to rival the efficiency and prosody of master poets. Well, anyone can do it slow at least. And if you can do it slow, you can do it fast. Believe it.
